Energy & Epigenetics 1: The Infant Brain is Unique

Today, we begin to examine levee's 6, 14, and 26 in the Quilt document for the first time. We begin to show examples of these levee's by examining how the human brain forms and functions in an infant. This example will act as an analogy to help us understand many other processes as the blog series rolls on. There are many countervailing influences in life that on the surface confuse our intellect. They create the appearance of paradox, enigma, and myths, and mysteries. I find when we look at the world through the hull of a glass-bottom ship, to look through a kaleidoscope at the galaxies that exist on the edge of our mind, we begin to see the sense that nature makes from the chaos of the world. I like the irony that mysteries often create. Today, we are going to use some "other observations" we have all made to show you how the mysteries of our modern world might be solved asking better questions instead of settling for the answers we have been given. The Human Infant It is clear in modern medicine now that we can not have optimal human brain development unless we have a secure nutrient rich food supply for both mother and child. This relationship also needs to be maintained postnatally for several years after birth until neuralation is successful. It does appear in modern neurosurgery research that human brain development is programmed genetically to a certain extent, but is more malleable then we thought because of the new science findings of epigenetics. This is also more apparent in humans than other mammals because our brain is so complex that even small changes in functional regions can lead to massive clinical changes that become apparent as the child develops. Autism and spectrum disorders are a good example of this phenomena.

Quantum Biology 12: Do We Need DNA To Tell Time?

How important is time really to life? Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course? Each of us has such a bank. It's name is time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success! The clock is running! Make the most of today. To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade. To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who just missed a train. To realize the value of one second, ask someone who just avoided an accident. To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who won a silver medal at the Olympics.

Quantum Biology 10: Hormones 102

Two years ago I gave you the Hormone 101: Clinical thoughts revealed blog post. That was a small dose of reality at the beginning of this journey. There was some foundational hormone biochemistry there given to you in simple terms. Most people jumped all over the free T3 link to pregnenolone in the post. They thought that "their cure" for hypothyroidism and/or chronic pregnenolone steal syndrome was increasing free T3 or just lowering reverse T3 to raise pregnenolone. So what was not observed? A trip down memory lane for the hormone cascade Leptin resistance occurs first in the brain. Then insulin resistance happens soon their after in the liver, gut, and peripheral tissues. This eventually leads to adrenal resistance. This resistance occurs at the PVN in the brain. (Brain Gut 16: Adrenal Fatigue Rx) It does not happen in the adrenal gland. What happens is that the outflow from our sympathetic system in the brainstem overwhelms the parasympathetic nervous system. This increase in overall cortisol initially, is the stress hormone that allows for fight or flight syndrome (life or death). As this condition persists chronically over time, cortisol levels decrease and flatline on adrenal stress index testing.

CPC #6: Pseudotumor Cerebri

It has been close toa year that we last did a CPC blog post. (CPC #5 The Leaky Gut/Adrenal Fatigue Case) CPC stands for a clinico-pathologic conference that we often see in medical schools that our used for teaching students and doctors. Today we are going to talk about a disease that has perplexed medicine for hundreds of years. Pseudotumor cerebri is also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) today. It goes by many names in the literature. I have decided to discuss this disease because it highlights many of the cornerstone principles of how quantum electrodynamic theory affect water chemistry. This change in water chemistry can lead to biologic effects. The biologic effects of water can be seen in modern humans when we look for them and correctly observe what is really going on. So today we see how the macrocosm affects the microcosm of a modern disease.

Quantum Biology 7: Sulfated Vitamin D3

There is so much buzz now in modern healthcare and on the internet about Vitamin D but does anyone really know how it is integrated into our physiology? Most people understand that Vitamin D is tied into our bone's metabolism and our immune system's function but there is a lot more to this story. Vitamin D and its receptor, along with Vitamin A and its RXR receptor are among the oldest chemicals life has used to exist in evolutionary biology. This alone tells you how important Vitamin D is for function. Vitamin D is directly modulated by photoelectric effect, which is a foundational law of nature and quantum mechanics. The skin and brain are both derived from neuroectoderm in all animals. In EMF 2, we saw how obesity might be related to an inflammatory condition found in the brain due to a lack of electrons and photons. Today, we are going to examine how Vitamin D works in a quantized fashion. Many physicians have confided in me that just do not believe that Vitamin D levels are that big of a deal for most patients. When they say that to me, I return a smile. It is not that big a deal for the doctor, but it is a huge clue about what is going on with the patient. For me, it is one of the most critical lab 'thermostat values' that tell me about the "preload of their semiconductors" in their skin and body. Yes, it is a quantum signal, to me as a physician. If you remember from the video's made at Paleo Fx 2011 and our Optimal reset challenge, that I said we can do a quick "biohack" using three labs and tell a lot about the person's current conditions of existence and where they need to go. Those three labs were the HS-CRP, DHEA, and Vitamin D. So far we covered DHEA in detail in the CPC blog of 6/30/2012 and in the back half of EMF 7. We have covered HS CRP in multiple places. Inflammation is the major signal that all biologic processes and respond to. It is what the hormone panel responds to and it dictates the thermostat for mitochondrial efficiency, signaling, and control of the cell cycle. The inflammatory signal also sets the tone for "tight" circadian control via the adenosine signal.

Quantum Biology 4: Metabolic Syndrome

We have shared a lot of information in the EMF and Quantum Biology series. Today, we are going to tie some of these concepts together to give you a picture of what the causes of metabolic syndrome might really be. This disease is now a runaway neolithic disease over the last 20 years. The fact that close to 26{a7b724a0454d92c70890dedf5ec22a026af4df067c7b55aa6009b4d34d5da3c6} of the population is obese and T2D is now no longer just a disease of obese people should begin to get scientist asking better question of the real etiology of this condition. It really has not. They remain prisoners to old beliefs about the disease. What is clear today, when a person has the up to date current perspective of published biology, chemistry, and biology, is that all disciplines are connected deeply. Biology is the science of life, but it becomes one with physics, and the science of matter and its motion. We only seem to become aware of this situation while living our lives and becoming very observant of this synergy. Our living as sentient beings, makes us the real experts on the laws of real nature. Science is based upon observation of nature at its core. Evidence based medicine is far off this target today. This may help you understand why Metabolic Syndrome is a runaway disease today. In 2012, the US government spent 270 billion dollars on treatment for this one condition. 20 years ago it was around a billion dollars. Something has radically changed environmentally and it is not the 9 billion inhabitants genes on this planet that have adapted this quickly. Their epigenetic pressures however have, and this is the source of the medical bill we get. You need to begin to question much of what you believe about neolithic disease today. Today’s blog delves into deep connections of those disciplines to help you understand what confuses your doctors today. Metabolic Syndrome is being treated via a cookbook called evidence based medicine. Much of what we believe about this disease is based upon a house of cards.

Quantum Biology 2: Quantum PCOS

Who is Gretchen? She is a women I met at Mark's Daily Apple monster thread two years ago. When we first met she wanted no part of the idea that maybe she was missing more pieces to the puzzle then she knew. I told her back then, if she began to test herself she would learn more about herself than she could ever imagine and it would happen fast. If you read the thread here, you will see where she began her journey. This blog is where her journey has brought her in her battle to reclaim optimal. She is also featured in my latest book on amazon, The Epi-Paleo Prescription and you can read her initial six months into this journey there with 3 other of my members. Gretchen has a blog too. She is a pretty amazing person with an amazing family and story. Here is how her journey began as written and told by award winning author Colleen Coble in my book: Gretchen stared at the piece of paper in her hand. The word medically discharged wavered in her vision, and she wheezed through the airways constricted by asthma. Her head was pounding, and her heart rate fluttered even faster than the pulse of pain in her head. It was the end of her military career. Even though she’d known it was coming, seeing it in black and white made her want to sink to the floor and bury her head in her head in her hands.

Quantum Biology #1: The Zero Entropy System

"Everything is energy and that is all there is to it. Match the frequency to the reality you want and you can not help but getting that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics." — Anonymous Biology has a great history of examining life by cutting, fixing, pinning, clamping, pressing, pulping, homogenizing, extracting and fractionating; all of which gave rise to, and reinforced, a static, atomistic view of the organism. This is a great way to drain water from a cell and miss life’s critical ingredient when you study it. When we study life in this fashion is limits our ability to understand how a living animal functions in a syncytium. We can see coherent functioning in animals just by observation, but we can’t reproduce it when we drain a cell of the thing that makes it coherent in the first place. We see long range order of the action potential in neurons, rapidity and efficiency of energy transduction and transfer in the brain and retina, extreme sensitivity to external cues in vision and touch, and symmetrical coupling of energy transfer along the inner mitochondrial membrane. Another observation we can make is the noiseless transitioning and functioning of entire populations of molecules in cells.

EMF 8: Quantum Bone

How can the events in space and time which take place within the spacial boundary of a living organism be accounted for by physics and chemistry? —Erwin Schrodinger How osteoporosis made me understand this complexity In our modern world physics continues to make in roads into the organic domains of life. It now places emphasis on non linear phenomena removed from equilibrium, based upon quantum coherence and cooperativity, which are the hallmarks of the biologic domain. It is the enigmas, the mysteries and paradoxes of life, that take hold of the imagination, leading it on the most exquisite dance. The quantum dance of life. Osteoporosis, for me, was the first and best example to explain to you the basics of human quantum biology. My observations from my clinic were pretty obvious over a 10 year span. It seemed everyone had some level of the disease if we looked for it. No one was normal on their MRI or blood chemistry work ups in my clinic, and I wanted to know, was Wolff’s law null and void for some reason in our modern world?

EMF 7: Quantum Prometheus

If you remember my podcast several years back, I told you the disease that got me interested in all this was osteoporosis. This is a disease I treat a lot as a spine surgeon. I discussed Wolff’s law in detail in the EMF 1 blog. When I realized that Wolff’s law was null and void in leptin resistance states in bone, something else radical appeared to me. I knew that Leptin Resistance signaled inflammation, and inflammation could be seen as a positive charge and loss of a negative charge on MRI’s, fMRI, and MEG studies. I also realized that MRI or NMR should show an increased flair signal on T2 weighted MRI images signifying an intracellular water loss coupled with a loss of collagen and of ATP. Collagen makes up the main protein of connective tissues in all mammals, typically 60–70{a7b724a0454d92c70890dedf5ec22a026af4df067c7b55aa6009b4d34d5da3c6} by weight. The water and collagen constitute a liquid crystalline matrix in which every cell in the body is embedded, making this system the ideal medium for intercommunication in eutherian mammals. Within this matrix we have learned about proton and electron superconduction that not only feed the underlying mechanistic pathways that most biochemistry recite but they also feed a rich “wet chemistry” that is fundamentally based upon special qualities of water. It turns out water has some prodigious quantum flexibility when it is confined in closed spaces that make it do some unique quirky things that no classic chemist would predict. These things are all predicted by quantum electrodynamic field theory. One such quirk is the use of water reverse micelles around proteins that increase enzyme action and kinetics by the order 10 to the 10th power based upon the pioneering work of Frank Mayer and Jim Clegg. Classic physics and chemistry thinks of water in its bulk form only because that is all the classic sciences can explain about it. In quantum coherence, where water acts as a total cohesive unit because it has infinite chemical freedom, water becomes highly structured chemically, from its bulk form to do some amazing things, to become extremely flexible in phase transitions between ice crystals and liquid crystals and gas vapor as it gets confined in small diameter nanotubes in our cells. Water dynamics and actions are quantumly altered as it is confined within nanotubes it develops properties that allow it to collectively work dynamically within reverse micelles and in proton superconducting cables that align along collagen in the cells cytoarchitecture to allow for super fast semiconduction. This has been reproduced by many physics and molecular biology researchers in electron photomicrographs and X-ray diffraction studies. The most amazing property water develops as it is confined in these nanotubes, it becomes a super catalyst that organic chemistry has missed, because it accounts for the energy of activation of biochemical reactions and enzymatic kinetics. It is not ATP that does this, ever!! ATP has another more critical function. It unfolds protein in cells to open water binding sites to form these super conduction cables to create 100{a7b724a0454d92c70890dedf5ec22a026af4df067c7b55aa6009b4d34d5da3c6} energy efficiency.
